WAYS OF WORKING TOUCH SCREEN

1. Resistive Screen
System resistive screen is coated by a thin layer of colored metallic conductive and resistive to electrical signals. The purpose of the conductive layer is a layer that is easy to conduct electrical signals, while the resistive layer is a layer that holds an electrical current.

These two layers are separated by a separator transparent spots, so this is definitely a layer separate from each other under normal circumstances. In the conductive layer is also in charge of the electrical current flows as a current reference.

When there is a touch of the second layer will be forced to directly contact each other physically. Because of the contact between the conductive and resistive layers, there will be interference with the reference electric current.

The effects of these disorders on the conductive layer is going to happen change electrical currents in response to a touch event. Changes in the value of the reference current is then reported to the controller for further process.

Information last touch mathematically processed by a controller that coordinates and produces an accurate position of the touch. Then the information is integrated with other programs so that it becomes easy to use application.

This technology has a screen with the highest image clarity by 75% only, so that the monitor will seem less clear. Touch sensors of this type are very vulnerable and weak to touch objects rather sharp.

This technology will not be affected by other elements outside such as dust or water, but will respond to all touch about it, either using your fingers directly or using another object such as a stylus. Very suitable for industrial purposes in the world such as in factories, laboratories, and many more.

The simple definition:

The screen is how it works to be suppressed, can use a finger or any object that is emphasized in the display. The drawback to this is if the screen is placed dikantong (especially pants pocket), can be depressed-press and caused the screen to be easily damaged because it is often depressed.

Indoor: Very good
Outdoors: Less than optimal

Examples of HP that uses a resistive screen is the Samsung Star, Sony Erricson W950. Siri-character is a stylus included in the package with his cell phone. Choose a container that uses flip model, so the screen can be protected from pressure. Otherwise not recommended to use HP models pouch container.

2. Capacitive Screen
Capacitive system has a wrapper layer that is the key to how it works, which is a wrapper that is capacitive in the entire surface. Touchscreen panel is equipped with a layer of indium tinoxide wrapping electrical current that can pass is continuous, and then directed to the sensor.

This layer can take advantage of the capacitive nature of the hand or the human body, and therefore this layer as a touch sensor employed in this kind of touchscreen. When the layers are in a normal state (without any touch of the hand), the sensor will be given a value of electric current is used as reference.

When your fingers touch the surface of this layer, the reference value is changed because there are electrical currents that change that goes to the sensor. Information from these events in the form of an electric current will be received by the sensors are forwarded to a controller. Position calculation process will begin here.

This calculation uses the positions of the four points sudur touchscreen panel as a reference. When the result of the calculation is obtained, then the position of the touch coordinates and had to be in the know well. Finally, the information of the position will be integrated with other programs to run an application.

Capacitive touchscreen can only work if the touches against him came from conductive objects such as fingers. Display screen has a clarity of up to approximately 90%, making it suitable for use in various purposes such interactions in the general public, for example in a restaurant, electronic kiosks, Point Of Sales locations, etc..

The simple definition:

Should the touch of a finger, can not use other objects (nails, stylus, etc.). Since this screen works by using an electrical charge that is our body. The capacitive touch screen models have almost no significant weakness, because this screen is the latest development to replace the resistive screen.

Indoor: Very good
Outdoor: Very good

The advantage: This type of display is not affected by the pressure, so even if HP put dikantong not be a problem. The use of container pouch models can be considered safe. Characteristics stylus is not included in the HP package. HP examples that use capacitive screens are Samsung Corby Touchscreen, iPhone.

3. Surface Acoustic Wave System
The touchscreen technology utilizes ultrasonic waves to detect events in the surface of the screen. Inside there are two touchscreen monitor transducer, ultrasonic signal transmitter and receiver.

Also equipped with a reflector that also serves as a deterrent so that ultrasonic waves remain on the monitor screen area.

Both the transducer is mounted in the four sides, two vertical and two horizontal. When its touchscreen panel touched, there is part of the wave is absorbed by touch, such as hindered by hand, stylus, keys, and more. Last touch has made changes in the transmitted waveform.

Changes that occur ultrasonic waves received by the receiver and then translated into electrical pulses. Further information had been turned into a form of touch data to be forwarded to the controller for further processing.

Data generated from these touches certainly is data about the position of your hands touching the ultrasonic signal. If this is done continuously and there are many ultrasonic wave sensor that touches on the media, then so be a touchscreen device that you can use.

This technology does not use metallic coatings, but a layer of glass, the touchscreen display of this type of light is able to pass on up to 90 percent, making it clearer and brighter than the resistive touchscreen.

Without the sensor coating also makes this type of touchscreen becomes more robust and durable because there is no coating that can be damaged when in touch, when exposed to water, oil, dust, and more.

The disadvantage is the performance of the touchscreen to be bothered by elements such as dust, water, and other solid objects. There is a little bit of dust or other objects attached to it then touchsreen can detect it as a touch.

This type of touchscreen suitable for use in a computer training room, indoor purposes to display the information in a very clear and sharp and in the room during the presentation.

Multi Touchscreen

Multi touch screen is the development of touch screen technology that already exists. Of the meaning of the word "multi" which means a lot, it is seen that the advantages of this touch screen can be touched by more than one finger. Multi-touch screen is capable of being touched by the finger of dozens of different people simultaneously.

Multi-touch screen can be used to enlarge, shrink, change position, and move the position of objects on the screen such as photos or games.

Multi-touch screen is commonly used in cell phones, computers, MP3 players, and so on.
